Scanzia for Android: Privacy Policy
Last updated
This Privacy Policy explains how the Scanzia app for Android (“Scanzia”, “the app”) handles personal data. Scanzia is a mobile document scanner and PDF toolkit developed by EacTech. It applies to the Android version only. The EacTech website has its own website Privacy Policy. Scanzia is currently in development; this policy takes effect when the app is released.
Who is responsible
The controller responsible for the app is [Legal entity name — to be confirmed], [Registered address — to be confirmed]. Contact: [Privacy contact email — to be confirmed].
Summary
- Documents you scan, open or create stay on your device. Scanzia is designed so that document content is not uploaded to EacTech.
- Scanzia shows ads provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device and usage data, including the Android advertising ID, to deliver and measure ads.
- Where required (for example in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom), Scanzia asks for your consent before ads that use personal data are shown.
- You can reset or delete your advertising ID and opt out of personalized ads at any time.
- Scanzia does not require an account.
Your documents
Scanning, creating, reading, organizing, reordering, merging, splitting and signing PDFs happen on your device. Documents and signatures are stored in the app's storage or in locations you choose. EacTech does not receive, access or store the content of your documents. When you share a document, it is sent only to the app or service you pick in the Android share sheet, under that app's own privacy policy.
Optional features that use a network, such as cloud sync, are not part of the current scope. If they are added, this policy will be updated first and they will be opt-in.
Permissions
- Camera: to capture documents. Images are processed on the device.
- Files and media access: to open PDFs and images you select and to save or export your documents. Access is limited to files you choose through the Android file picker.
- Internet and network state: to load and measure ads.
- Advertising ID: used by AdMob, as described below.
Final permission list: [Confirm against the released app manifest — to be confirmed].
Advertising (Google AdMob)
Scanzia uses Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC, to show ads. When an ad is requested, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and process data such as your device's advertising ID, IP address, approximate location derived from the IP address, device and operating system information, and information about how ads are shown and interacted with. Google uses this data to deliver ads, measure performance, prevent fraud and, with your consent, personalize ads.
EacTech does not receive your advertising ID and does not receive a profile of you from Google. EacTech may see aggregated reports from AdMob, such as impressions and revenue. For details on how Google handles data, see how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and Google's Privacy Policy.
Consent and your choices
In the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, Scanzia uses Google's User Messaging Platform to ask for your consent before ads that use personal data are shown, and lets you review or change that choice in the app's settings. If you decline, you may still see ads that are not personalized.
On Android you can also:
- Reset your advertising ID or opt out of ads personalization in Settings → Privacy → Ads (menu names vary by device).
- Delete your advertising ID if your Android version supports it.
- Revoke the camera or files permission in your device's app settings at any time.
Children
Scanzia is not directed to children under 13 (or the higher minimum age in your country) and is not intended for children. EacTech does not knowingly collect personal data from children. Target audience and age settings: [Confirm target audience and ad content rating in Play Console and AdMob — to be confirmed].
Retention
Because documents stay on your device, they are kept until you delete them or uninstall the app. Data processed by Google AdMob is retained under Google's policies. Any data EacTech receives directly, such as an email you send to support, is kept only as long as needed to respond: [Email retention period — to be confirmed].
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to processing, to data portability, and to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. Because EacTech does not hold your documents or your advertising profile, requests about ad data are best directed to Google through your Google account's ad settings. For anything else, contact [Privacy contact email — to be confirmed]. Applicable law and supervisory authority: [Jurisdiction and supervisory authority — to be confirmed].
Security
Keeping documents on your device reduces exposure, and the app relies on Android's built-in protections for app storage. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so keep your device updated and protected with a screen lock.
Changes to this policy
This policy will be updated when the app or its data processing changes, for example if features such as cloud sync or OCR are added. The date at the top of the page shows the latest version.
