What is FootyQuiz?

FootyQuiz is a football trivia game currently being developed by EacTech. It is built around quick matches that take a few minutes, a full offline mode, and multiplayer competition against live players, recorded runs of real players or bots.

The idea is that football trivia should fit the moments people actually have: a commute, a halftime break, a few minutes before kickoff. A match should start fast, test real football knowledge and end with a clear result, whether the player is online, offline or waiting for an opponent.

FootyQuiz is one of four products in the EacTech portfolio. It is in development and is not yet available to download.

Who is it for?

FootyQuiz is designed for anyone who follows football — or soccer, depending on where they live — and enjoys testing what they know.

  • Dedicated fans

People who follow results, transfers and history closely and want questions that reward that knowledge.

  • Casual followers

Fans who watch the big matches and want a light, quick quiz without a long setup.

  • Competitive players

Players who want ranked matches, daily challenges and a clear way to compare themselves with others.

  • Fans around the world

People who want to play in their own language, with content that reflects football as it is followed in many countries.

What problem does it solve?

Multiplayer quiz games often make players wait. A match cannot start when no opponent is online, offline play is frequently missing or limited, and question content is commonly written for one language and one football culture, then translated for everyone else.

The result is a quiz that feels empty at off-peak hours, stops working on a plane or in the subway, and asks questions that do not match what many fans actually follow. FootyQuiz aims to fix this with matches that always start quickly, a real offline mode and content designed from the start for multiple languages.

Core product concept

FootyQuiz is organized around four ideas that shape every match, with transparency about who or what the player is facing built into the design.

  • Quick matches

Short, timed rounds that start in seconds, so a full match fits into a spare few minutes.

  • Always an opponent

Hybrid matchmaking moves from live PvP to ghost PvP to a bot, so players are never left waiting — and always know which one they got.

  • Play anywhere

An offline mode designed to work without a network, alongside online ranked, daily and friend challenges.

  • Global content

A multilingual architecture where questions are organized per language, so content can reflect what fans in each language follow.

Scope

Planned features

The core features below define FootyQuiz's intended scope. They are being built now and may change before release.

  • Quick matches

Short rounds of timed football questions designed to start in seconds and finish in a few minutes.

  • Offline mode

A full single-player mode designed to work without a connection, with question sets stored on the device.

  • Live PvP

Head-to-head matches against another player answering the same questions at the same time.

  • Hybrid matchmaking

Matchmaking that tries to find a live opponent first, then moves to a ghost or bot opponent so a match never stalls. The opponent type is always shown.

  • Ghost PvP

Play against a recorded run of a real player on the same question set, including their answers and timing.

  • Bot fallback

When no live or recorded opponent is available, a clearly labeled bot opponent keeps the match going.

  • Ranked play

A competitive mode where results feed into a rank, so players can measure their football knowledge over time.

  • Daily and friend challenges

A shared daily question set for everyone, plus direct challenges sent to friends on a chosen set of questions.

  • Multilingual content

Questions and interface designed for multiple languages, with content structured per language rather than only translated.

  • Progression

Levels and milestones that track how much a player has played and how well they have answered.

Later areas of exploration

Not committed. These areas are being considered for after the core experience is complete.

  • Themed question packs

Question sets focused on a particular era, competition format or area of the game, for players who want to go deeper.

  • Private group competitions

Small competitions among a group of friends over several matches, with a shared table of results.

  • Additional languages

Expanding question content into more languages once the first ones are confirmed and working well.

  • Question feedback

A way for players to flag an outdated or unclear question so it can be reviewed and corrected.

  • Detailed stats

Breakdowns of accuracy and speed by question category, so players can see their strongest and weakest topics.

Development philosophy

Speed over setup. Opening the app and starting a match should take as few steps as possible. Sign-up screens, long menus and loading delays should never stand between a player and the first question.

Honest opponents. Matchmaking is designed so players always know whether they are facing a live player, a recorded ghost run or a bot. How each opponent type counts toward ranked play will be stated clearly.

Offline is a real mode. Playing without a connection should be a complete experience, not a reduced demo, with online features adding competition rather than being required to play at all.

Content built for many languages. Questions are being structured so each language can have content written and reviewed for it, rather than relying only on translated interface text.

FootyQuiz FAQ

What is FootyQuiz?

FootyQuiz is a football trivia game currently being developed by EacTech. It is designed around quick matches, offline play, live and recorded multiplayer, ranked play, daily challenges, friend challenges and question content in multiple languages.

Is FootyQuiz available yet?

No. FootyQuiz is in development and is not yet available to download. There is no public beta at this time. Official store links will be published on the FootyQuiz page at eactech.online when the game is released.

Can FootyQuiz be played offline?

Yes, that is a core design goal. FootyQuiz is being built with an offline mode that is designed to work without a network connection, using question sets stored on the device. Online features such as live PvP and ranked play require a connection.

Will FootyQuiz have multiplayer?

Yes. FootyQuiz is planned to include live PvP matches against other players, ghost PvP against recorded runs of real players, ranked play and direct challenges between friends.

What is hybrid matchmaking?

Hybrid matchmaking is how FootyQuiz is designed to find an opponent without making players wait. It first looks for a live opponent. If none is available quickly, it matches the player against a ghost, which is a recorded run of a real player on the same question set. If no ghost is available, a bot opponent is used. The opponent type is always clearly labeled.

Will FootyQuiz support multiple languages?

Yes. FootyQuiz is being built with a multilingual architecture, so both the interface and the question content can be provided in multiple languages. Launch languages will be confirmed on the FootyQuiz product page when the game is released.

Is FootyQuiz an official football app?

No. FootyQuiz is an independent football trivia game developed by EacTech. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any football organization, competition, club, league or player.
